I have Endometriosis, Can I get Pregnant?

Yes. Many ladies with endometriosis get pregnant. But, you may find it bit difficult to get pregnant. Researchers assume endometriosis could have an affect on as many as one in every two women with infertility.

If you have endometriosis and if you are facing difficulties to get pregnant, talk to your doctor. He or she can be recommended with treatments, such as surgery to get rid of the endometrial growths.

How is Endometriosis Treated?

The most conservative therapy for endometriosis is with medications. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug medications, like ibuprofen, could facilitate with the pain related to endometriosis. Medications that control a woman’s hormones may also help with endometriosis pain. Some examples are birth control pills and gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists, the latter of which put women into a “temporary” menopause-like state.

How is Endometriosis Treated?

Surgery will diagnose endometriosis, and it can also treat endometriosis via removal (excision) or burning (fulguration) of endometriosis lesions.  With surgery, removal of connective tissue will alleviate pain and relocate the ovaries and fallopian tubes to their traditional position within the pelvis. Surgery has been shown to help some women with endometriosis to become pregnant. If a lady with endometriosis is no longer interested in becoming pregnant, she and her doctor might decide to remove the ovaries and possibly the womb. A woman will not become pregnant if she is not having a uterus.

If a woman with endometriosis is facing difficulties in getting pregnant, there are some different medications and treatments available that can help her to become pregnant.
